Sweet potatoes are the best. Not only are they packed with nutrients, like fiber, vitamin A, and antioxidants, but they are both filling like a carbohydrate and nutritious like a vegetable. However, restaurant-fried sweet potato fries will often leave us feeling sluggish and full. For a lighter treat, make yourself as a side dish and barbecue addition.
You’ll Need:
3 Whole Sweet Potatoes, sliced in half and then length-wise
1/4 cup Olive Oil
1/4 Tsp Fresh Ground Pepper
1/8 Tsp Salt
1/8 Tsp Fresh Ground Chipotle Sea Salt (my favorite for added flavor with a little kick)
1/4 cup Water
1/4 Real Maple Syrup
Directions:
1.) Slice sweet potatoes in half and then length wise and place in a resealable gallon-size freezer bag.
2.) In a small bowl, combine next 6 ingredients. Stir to combine.
3.) Add mixture to freezer bag with fries and seal. Toss well and let “seep” for at least 30 minutes.
4.) Spread fries out in 1 layer on a foil baking sheet and grill 10 minutes or bake at 350 degrees for at least 20 minutes, turning 1-2 times.
Enjoy!
